Twitter

CPL 2.0 Twitter

I had an account with Twitter already so have used it for awhile. I like the fact you don't have to sign up for a Twitter account but can go into the site and search for something or someone you are interested in and find out what other people are saying about this person or company. Twitter is useful for checking on friends, businessess you frequent and celebrities you watch. It is a great site to get instant information and to keep others updated with your info.

LibraryThing

CPL.20 Library Thing

I did find the site very user-friendly. I searched for books by Elizabeth George and it came up with reviews of her books and later then I went back online, there were many members recommendations regarding other books similar in style of Ms George that I may look into. I would recommend this site for people who are looking for books written in a similar style to their favourite author. It was not difficult to navigate and would start using this site.

CPL 2.0

Online Productivity Tools.
I choose the Google Calendar and put a few days schedule into the calendar and printed it out. I like that it gives the Calgary forecast (helps with our schedule - how to dress and in planning an event outside, the forecast is a great tool. I also like the fact you can share your calendar with others if these people want to know about your schedule. This would be great for the holiday itinerary. I would consider using this calendar when I am very busy and want an hour to hour schedule that can be printed out and send to others. I have a good calendar system at home (writing in by hand) but then I have three calendars (kitchen calendar, computer room calendar and purse calendar)so maybe doing the calendar on line and printing out the week 3 times would be better. I will check it out.

I can see these free online tools eventually replacing expensive software like MS Office. These are good tools and "free" is always good.

CPL 2.0 Flickr & YouTube

I have watched YouTube videos many times and find that site very user friendly and usefull. (depending on what topic you are watching) Some are just plain silly.

I was very interested in Flickr, as I have never been to that site before. It seems to be a great place for photo management and sharing pictures. I like the feature of editing and organizing the pictures. I also like the make stuff. I would recommend this site for people who like to keep in touch with family and friends with their pictures.
COL2.0 RSS
I was albe to successfully set up my RRS feed by "subscribing to this feed using Blogliness" I signed up for CBC Calgary and mashable.com. Also signed up to Broadway.com and found it usefull with information gathering. I did not find the others I signed up for more convenient.
